Checking for Genieheads

I have seen people talk about this scene and say that they think that Rumple is in the clouds about Belle because he's sniffing flowers and preening in mirrors.

I have to say that I got a different impression from seeing him do those things.

First off, Rumple is always fiddling with other people's stuff when he goes to see them. It's probably partly "you might have summoned me here, but I'm not overly-interested in what you have to say." sort of thing.  (especially when they're sayng stupid stuff like Regina was at that time.)  The flowers were there, so he sniffed them.  There was stuff on Regina's dresser thingy, so he looked at them.

And about the mirror...  As far as I could tell, he never once had a "preening" expresison on his face when he had it or was looking at it.  He had a mildly suspicious/confused look on his face.  And he tapped the mirror.  Why would you tap a mirror if you're preening?  You would fiddle with your hair or make "Hello, sexy" faces at it.
I'm convinced that he picked it up and was staring at it because he sensed it look at him.
